Hello wonderful people. I’ve been carrying around a little secret for a while now and if you’ve seen me in person you would know that I’m pregnant! I realised the other day that I’ve actually been pregnant for half a year now (I’m due in June). I can feel her wriggling around now as I write this. Yes, it’s a girl and so far everything is going very smoothly. If you have any lovely baby girl names, we’d love some ideas.
I’ve had a very busy month (in comparison to January) with lots of teaching and a trip to Melbourne. I’m also in a Fringe show called Maestro doing improvised theatre, you can see me on Sunday or Tuesday night if you feel so inclined!
If you want to read more about my recent trips and see some of my latest artworks, you can do so in my Dose of Whimsy blog post here.

VLOG
My goodness, when you have your own garden you really notice the dry of Summer in a big way. Everything is so yellow and crispy, but there is still so much magic to be seen. Read more about it in my ‘G’day from my Garden’ letter/blog post for February.
Art Classes
Now you know that I’m pregnant, you’ll also know know that there is limited time to book into an art class with me before I take some leave from workshops for some time (not sure yet how long).
If you’ve got kids, there are still 3 places left to book in for Whimsical Watercolours at the Aberfoyle Community Centre on March 6 (4-5.30pm).
Wine and watercolour sessions at Between the Vines are booked in until May. Do yourself a favour and visit this gorgeous winery, you’ll be in the best mood for the rest of the week!
March 21 (12.30-3pm) Wine and Watercolours at Between the Vines - Curious Creatures
April 11 (12.30-3pm) Wine and Watercolours at Between the Vines - Lovely Leaves
May 9 (12.30-3pm) Wine and Watercolours at Between the Vines - Birds
In April, I’ll be hosting a series of 4 bird painting classes at The Cedars (Hahndorf). Over the course of the month we will explore a variety of techniques (with an emphasis of ink/watercolour) to depict the beautiful native birds that will be flitting around us as we paint. Tickets include a tea/coffee and all materials. If you can’t make it to every session in the 4 weeks, just let me know and I can arrange a booking discount for you. Check it out here.
How to Draw - Wattlebird
Follow along with me as we draw the Wattlebird step-by-step. All you need is pen and paper, enjoy!
To Do Lists
I’m super pleased with how my ‘To Do’ lists have kept me accountable the past couple of months. It’s very helpful seeing them on the wall every day and the achievement I feel when ticking something off is delightful. If you’d like to purchase the series of March ‘To Do’ lists to print off at home and fill in this weekend, you can do so here. I’ll be sending out an email after this one exclusively for my paid subscribers with some examples of how I use my lists and a link to download the March sheets for free.
Gifts For You
The gift in the real mail to my wonderful ‘Letterbox Legends’ (and one general paid subscriber) this month features my ‘G’day from my Garden’ letter, a March ‘Garden Planner’ a blank ‘Dunnart the Digger’ card and little Mother Earth magnet. If you also want a monthly dose of whimsy in your letterbox, you can subscribe for as little as $5 per month.
With love and a dose of whimsy,
Zinia
