Dear lovely one,
This morning my day started with a little drawing in my journal as my daughter played. It wasn’t anything particularly special but it helped me to greet the day with a smiling mind. Doodling give me so much joy and it’s something I haven’t given enough time to of late. The simple act of putting pen to paper and letting my subconscious take over is my favourite form of relaxation. As I wrote about in my most recent ‘Dose of Whimsy’ post, I’ve spent too much time recently being mindlessly entertained by social media and not enough time being proactively creative. I’ve deleted Instagram and Facebook off my phone and this month I’m committing to doodling every day. I’ll share the results in my next newsletter.
On the topic of having more time for creativity, I’ve decided to combine my ‘Dose of Whimsy’ newsletter with my ‘Monthly Newsletter’ beginning in August. I hope that you enjoy seeing more of my creative pursuits in this monthly newsletter. Here is my last ‘Dose of Whimsy’ post.

Workshops
My bird painting classes are coming up this month at The Cedars in Hahndorf (South Australia). They are super beginner friendly and we'll be exploring a range of techniques using ink and watercolour. The new Heysen Gallery will be open and we will be toasty and warm in the new art-making space (how exciting)!
Spring Studio Clean
I’m back in business! My gorgeous partner is looking after our daughter for two half days every week now so that I can get back to work. Unfortunately, my studio is in a state of great disorder after not being used for a year. My number 1 task is the sort and clean the space so that I can use it more effectively. I’ve already found lots of special things that I plan to put up online and share the whimsy. Watch this space for a giant sale coming soon. 😮
