May Creations
The last month of Autumn has been a creatively fulfilled one for me, this is because I've been taking the time to learn new skills and step out of my comfort zone. Read on for some fun times!
Hills Winter Lantern Festival - Environmental Sculpture
The past few Wednesday afternoons, I’ve been making large interactive sculptures with willow for the Hills Winter Lantern Festival. I was blown away by how fast we could make a large structure with nothing more than willow string! The main design of a lady with a large balloon skirt is inspired by my poster design. Feel free to join us on Wednesday afternoons leading up to the festival to weave in your own willow. Message me for details and come along to the festival on the 15th of June.

Oil Painting at The Cedars
I enjoyed a gorgeous sunny day in the garden at The Cedars with Jane Mant a couple of weeks ago. Oils and landscapes are not my specialty and I was not super pleased with the result, but I did enjoy the process.
Autumn Leaf Drawing at The Cedars
I have never really liked using coloured pencils, but it turns out that I just wasn’t using the right ones. I created this artwork with Prismacolour pencils, they were beautifully buttery soft and beautiful to work with! I definitely want to invest in some now!

Nature Journaling
I’m nearing the end of my large nature journal and I’m almost nervous to finish it! This month I enjoyed a mini-housesitting holiday by the beach and spent the evening sketching the sunset and the passers-by.

Bathroom Door
I finally got around to finishing the fun gum-nut fellow on our bathroom door and couldn’t be happier! I hope you like him too, what should his name be?
Left-Handed Drawing
I’ve been a little slack with my left-handed drawing recently, but I’m still determined to finish the book! It really is very cool noticing how much easier I’m finding it to draw with my non-dominant hand now.

Digital Art
My contribution to Mer-May using a limited colour palette. Inspired by my Echidna drawing class with the homeschoolers.

That bathroom door is so epic! You should do more murals for coffee shops!
