Greetings from the couch! It’s finally cooled down here in Adelaide, but we’ve still had barely any rain. We’re now down to our 4th rainwater tank (thank goodness we have 5) and are waiting patiently for more rain to greenify everything once again. I’ve had a delightful month, busy with teaching and commission jobs. Banksia Red asked me to do more tin designs like these and I just handed in a rainbow lorikeet and a kangaroo today. Keep an eye out for them in the shops soon. Would you be interested in seeing these as prints or greeting cards?

I also went away to Singapore for a week as my partner was working over there (free accomodation). It was utterly wonderful, you can read more about it here.
Awe in Singapore
I just recently got back from the most wonderful week in Singapore. My partner was working over there, so I took advantage of the free accomodation and set about exploring the unique city.
VLOG
I wrote my most recent ‘G’day from my Garden’ letter yesterday. It’s such a delight reflecting on each month and my little nature adventures. Check it out here.
Art Classes
Birds of The Cedars painting classes start tomorrow! Over the course of the month we will explore a variety of techniques (with an emphasis of ink/watercolour) to depict the beautiful native birds that will be flitting around us as we paint. Tickets include a tea/coffee and all materials. If you can’t make it to every session in the 4 weeks, just let me know and I can arrange a booking discount for you. Check it out here.
There are only two wine/watercolour sessions left at Between the Vines before I have the baby. I’m not sure when I’ll be able to do these classes again so if you’ve been on the fence about coming along, now might be your last opportunity. 😊
April 11 (12.30-3pm) Wine and Watercolours at Between the Vines - Lovely Leaves
May 9 (12.30-3pm) Wine and Watercolours at Between the Vines - Birds
My online art class this month is all about patterns, check it out here.
Pattern Focus
Apologies if this sheet is a little overwhelming, feel free to print it out and look at it while you draw. I’ve always drawn in a certain style that incorporates many patterns. I find that it comes quite naturally to me, but have discovered that it’s not necessarily simple to think of ideas. I hope that this post will help you.
Gifts For You
I just thought it might be nice to give something to you all this month as a thank you for following me on my artistic journey over the past years. How about these April ‘To Do’ Lists to keep you accountable this month.
You can download and print the lists below. I’d love to see a photo of the lists in action.
The gift in the real mail to my wonderful ‘Letterbox Legends’ (and one general paid subscriber) this month features my ‘G’day from my Garden’ letter, a blank ‘Mother Earth’ card and little Watercolour Lady magnet. If you also want a monthly dose of whimsy in your letterbox, you can subscribe for as little as $5 per month.
With love and a dose of whimsy,
Zinia

The journal style drawings you make are sooo precious! I hope you had fun in Singapore! I love the video vlogs 🙂
