Sketching in Bed
In the depths of winter as it is now, there’s nothing quite like cozying up in bed with a sketchbook. I love drawing when I’m tired, the surrealist ideas come naturally as if I’m already dreaming. Here’s one such sketch that I’m quite pleased with.
Another Collage Party
I had so much fun at my collage party last month, that I couldn’t help but do it all again!
Cafe Doodles and Storytelling
I’ve been out and about a-lot the past couple of weeks teaching School Holidays workshops. In between classes I had a few delightful times sketching in cafes. It was such a joy creating stories to tell alongside the doodles.

There was an Old Man who said, 'Hush!
I perceive a young bird in this bush!'
When they said, 'Is it small?'
He replied, 'Not at all!
It is four times as big as the bush!'
IPad Experiments
I’ve been enjoying experimenting with different painting techniques recently. Here are a couple of evening drawings created whilst cozied up by the fire.

Red-Browed Finch
Every month I’ve been creating ‘how-to-draw’ sheets of different birds that are local to the Adelaide Hills (especially The Cedars in Hahndorf). This month’s bird that we’ll be drawing is the red-browed finch (a gorgeous bird that I often see in our backyard). If you’d like to draw a red-browed finch with me on the 11th of August at The Cedars, you can book in here. If you’d like to join me painting any bird of your choice, why not join me at Stangate House on the 2nd, 9th or 16th of August? Tea included in both locations. Book in here.
