How to Draw - Rainbow Bee Eater

I’ve actually never seen a Rainbow Bee Eater in the wild, but I’m sure it’s a magical experience. I hope you enjoy this free lesson on how to draw these lovely little birds. Follow along with me as we draw the Rainbow Bee Eater step-by-step. All you need is pen and paper, enjoy!

Start with a light pencil sketch. Find the basic shapes that overlap. Keep it simple.

Begin adding extra details, only big shapes. Ensure everything fits together. Erase any lines you don’t need.

Start drawing with your pen. Draw slowly and carefully incorporating any patterns you like along the way. Think about stippling (dots), leaves and flowers, zig zags etc. See my Pattern Focus class for some ideas. When complete, erase your pencil lines.

More detail often looks more impressive, so take your time and enjoy the meditative process. Put on some classical music or a podcast and relax.
