How to Draw - Echidna

Draw Australia's beloved Echidna with me. How-to-draw and dot-to-dot sheets included.

Echidnas probably one of my favourite animals, they are so sassy and unique. See my blog post about them here.

Follow along with me as we draw the echidna step-by-step. All you need is pen and paper, enjoy!

Start with a light pencil sketch. Find the basic shapes that overlap. Keep it simple.

Begin adding extra details, only big shapes. Ensure everything fits together. Erase any lines you don’t need.

Start drawing with your pen. Draw slowly and carefully incorporating any patterns you like along the way. Think about stippling (dots), leaves and flowers, zig zags etc. When complete, erase your pencil lines.

More detail often looks more impressive, so take your time and enjoy the meditative process. Put on some classical music or a podcast and relax.
