Oh my goodness, it is so epic outside! I just came in after moving the quails to their night-time enclosure and it just so happens to be raining. Actually raining! 😮 We have had such a long dry spell here in South Australia and any rain just seems amazing. I feel enlivened and excited to start getting things done in the garden. Let me know in the comments what you’re doing in the garden this April.
Here are a few photo notes of the things that went on in my garden this month, enjoy!
Loving so much collecting for ‘garden dinners’.
My genius way of clearing my compost of insects so that I can plant seeds in it.
A limestone sculpture I made the other day… very addictive, I’m keen to do more!
Building jobs out the front - creating a new sunroom.
Finally plucking up the courage to rip up my tomato plants and hang them upside-down in the garden shed.
A ‘cucamelon’… doesn’t it look wonderful? I’m super keen to taste one!
I love how quickly the outer leaves of lettuce grow back after harvesting.
Seed planting! I finally worked out a way to make labels so that I actually know what is coming up. The labels are old yoghurt containers.
I hear you can make green tomato chutney.. well I’m interested! Maybe a tomorrow job.
Zucchinis are the best! I love how long they produce for, even if they start to have fungal issues. Also, I love my zinnias and basil together…. Basil, please don’t die yet!
How are things going in your garden? I’d love to see photos!
If you liked this little garden recap, why not consider subscribing for more loveliness like this? You can also opt-in to receive my ‘G’day from my Garden’ letter in the real mail!
There isn't much that feels photo-worthy from our garden yet, but perhaps there shall be a photographic reply at some point!
Thanks for sharing all the magic of the lives and times in your garden, Zinia. :-)
