Hello again lovely people and welcome to another ‘Dose of Whimsy’ instalment. In this monthly post I share all of my whimsical arty play and creative thoughts. 😊

Nature Journal

I've been finding great solace in my nature journal recently, it's kind of like a lovely friend who appreciates the little things (like me). I’m about to go through a massive life change (having a baby), and it’s very comforting to have somewhere to reflect and collect my thoughts together. Drawing and painting moments from my days is also a form of self-expression that I find calms my nervous system nicely.

Life Drawing

I attended my first life drawing session in a very long time recently and had a ball. At first I took my time to concentrate on realism, but by the last pose I was tired and leant into a whimsical watercolour interpretation (my favourite).

A Drawing a Day 2025

I’ve been really enjoying my daily doodles recently, I’ve been waking up with fun ideas to draw and it’s been getting me out out bed and ready to plan my day. I really think that this little practise is going to keep me grounded as I navigate the trials and tribulations of new parenthood next month.

I’ve also been enjoying experimenting with different ways of working and recreating some of my doodles as larger artworks.
