Hello again lovely people and welcome to another ‘Dose of Whimsy’ instalment. In this monthly post I share all of my whimsical arty play and creative thoughts. 😊
Greetings lovely people, I hope you had a wonderfully creative month. I’ve been enjoying the last cold days of winter cuddling on the couch with my daughter. Nina has been wanting to feed almost non-stop recently and has had a big growth spurt. I’ve often got myself set up with all my art supplies next to me and have been particularly productive with my journaling and zine making. Check out my ‘What Horses Eat’ zine in my most recent newsletter or on my website that I made exclusively whilst breastfeeding.
Nature and Life Journal
I’ve never been quite so into journaling as I am now. I think that it has something to do with savouring these precious times with my newborn. The journal is also acting like a sketchbook and I’m enjoying playing around with different ideas in it. I recently posted a post sharing pages from my 2022 journal which you can see here.
Artwork Spotlight - Wombat in the Hills
I created this piece several years ago as a commission for a dental agency in the Adelaide Hills. The original plan was for the artwork to be reproduced as a large wall decal to bring some vibrancy to the walls. You might notice that the thicker lines in the leaves resemble hills. My paid subscribers will receive a high-quality A3 PDF of this artwork to print and put on their walls.
